Paul Guys fake mobile games are popular, when will the real ones come out?
The popularity of Paul Guys, who recently made it free, is soaring. In particular, Paul Guys supports cross-play that can be enjoyed on both PC and console, but it has not yet appeared as a mobile platform, so the needs of gamers are high. Taking advantage of this situation, the Paul Guys fake game is gaining popularity.
The main character is a game called 'Stumble Guys' produced by Kitta Games, a Finnish game company. Controlling a humanoid character resembling Paul Guy, it is based on a group of 32 players running along an obstacle course. In fact, there is only a slight difference in the character and level design, and it was made almost identical to Paul Guys.
The game was released in early 2021, when Paul Guys was at its peak, but at that time it did not gain much popularity and remained a fake game. However, when Paul Guys went free on June 21 and reached its heyday, recording 50 million cumulative players in two weeks, the number of users looking for the game instead of the non-existent mobile version surged. 1.5 million players downloaded the game in one day alone, and according to the results of multiple market research companies, the revenue in June 2022 alone is expected to reach $6.6 million to $9 million (about 8.6 billion to 11.7 billion won).
Chinese game company NetEase also released a mobile game similar to Paul Guys. This game, named 'Eggboy Party', is a game in which you control an 'Eggboy', which is slightly more spherical than 'Pol Guy', and pass through obstacles by overtaking competitors. Again, the overall gameplay is similar to that of Paul Guys, and the ability to curl up and roll around has been added. After testing in 2021, it was released at the end of May and is generating a lot of attention in China.
While fake games are gaining popularity, the news of the official mobile version of the main character, Paul Guys, has not been materialized yet. In August 2020, Chinese game company Billy Billy started pre-ordering 'Jelly Bean: Ultimate Knockout', which appears to be a mobile version of Paul Guys, but there is no news after two years. Epic Games has also not made any announcements about the mobile version of Paul Guys.
