Need for Speed 2022: New rumors about the game, races in the heart of Chicago?
It must be believed that Jeff Grubb has things to say about Need for Speed. In fact, a few days ago, the Venturebeat journalist indicated that Xbox One and PS4 versions could be canceled, and so that episode would be exclusively dedicated to Next-Gen and PC consoles. Today, the guy loose new rumors as part of his Grubbsnax show, and according to him, Criterion Games developers want to give the game a particular aesthetic. "The next Need for Speed will be photorealistic, but there will also be visual effects of type anime_," he explains. "You know, it's like automotive ads where, while the car rolls, flames and 'Other cartoon things fly away everywhere. It's what kind of effect they seem to want to get._ "
On the content side, Jeff Grubb believes that the autolog will make his return. It is recalled that this feature dedicated to the multiplayer appeared for the first time in Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit to give a social dimension to the game. "_You will be able to customize each of the parts of your car", he guarantees. Finally - and it is not the least important - this new Need for Speed should take place in the fictitious city of Lake Shore City, a playground greatly inspired by Chicago. Well, we remember that last time, the same Jeff Grubb rather evoked Miami as a model. But hey, again, as it is only rumors...
For the moment, the only certainty is that it's good Criterion Games who is at the control of the project. He already has to his credit the Hot Pursuit opus, Most Wanted and Rivals, not to mention the Saga Burnout. It even murmurs that for Need for Speed 2022 - whose exit would be scheduled for next November - the British studio could benefit from the help of codemasters which, it is reminded, has definitely been redeemed by Electronic Arts last year.
